Introduction to Sociology

Sociology is the study of people and society.  Sociologists consider how individuals are impacted by the social environment around them and how they, in turn, can have an influence on this environment. Sociologists study a wide variety of things associated with human social behavior at the individual, group, and institutional levels. This site will explore some of those phenomena and patterns through current events relevant to statuses like race, class, and gender, and the social relationships and institutions in which these come together.
